So I took the carpet cleaner to her house, and visited with Allen for awhile. While we were visiting we walked around the yard, I saw some Morning Glories growing wild beyond the back fence and wanted to go get some starts to bring home, but to get to them I couldn't just go through a gate, there wasn't one, I had to go about a block to the Park Entrance. I asked Allen if he wanted to walk with me, and we went.
We followed the path through the park to where we could see the house, I decided not to take starts of the Glories, so we walked toward the fence on the far side of the park, and I saw some big yellow flowers, like the ones you would see on squash plants, and sure enough it was squash.
After gathering the 3 squash Allen and I walked up a soft sandy creek bed, where we found fresh Raccoon, and Skunk tracks, but had no camera, so didn't get pictures. We walked about 2-3 miles total.
This is one of 3 that we found, they were all about this size, I kept this one and left the other 2 for Venda. I took this picture after I got home.
I know there is nothing special about the squash, the animal tracks, the place they were all found, or even the fact that Allen and I spent a couple hours together. Each thing on it's own is not special, but put them all together, and it makes for a very special couple of hours.

I am just trying to see if anyone can post a comment...

ReplyDeleteThank you Sis. I thought this was a spaghetti squash, and Vet confirmed that it was, an un-ripe one. We have already eaten it, and we are still alive.
